Islamabad has reported a rise in cross-border assaults by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

Pakistani provinces alongside the border with Afghanistan have been repeatedly attacked by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, often known as the TTP or the Pakistani Taliban.

Islamabad accuses the Taliban authorities in Afghanistan of permitting these fighters to make use of its territory to hold out assaults. The Afghans deny the accusation.
